We are PDP members but Wike led us to do something unprecedented, he told us to vote Tinubu – Lloyd

Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of Emuoha Local Government Area, has disclosed that he and other PDP stakeholders in the LGA were directed by then-Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike to vote for the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu, during the last presidential election

In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast, Lloyd said despite their affiliation with the PDP, they followed Wike’s directive and overwhelmingly supported Tinubu for the presidency however they supported PDP’s candidates for the national assembly positions.

Lloyd said this political move orchestrated by Governor Wike resulted in a significant outcome, as Tinubu emerged victorious in the presidential election while PDP candidates secured the positions in the national assembly. He described this occurrence as unprecedented.

In Lloyds’ words: “We are PDP members but Nyesom Wike led us to do something that was unprecedented, he directed us to vote for the presidential candidate of the APC and we massively voted for President Bola Tinubu. For the national assembly positions, we voted candidates of the PDP. In an unprecedented manner in this state, we saw that all of that came to pass”.
