In a Sunrise Daily interview on Channels Television, former Rivers State House of Assembly member and current Local Government Chairman, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, implied that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is aiming at him and other supporters of former Governor Nyesom Wike. Lloyd hinted that there are changes in the system to obstruct their performance in their roles

Chidi Lloyd, a notable member of the PDP, voiced doubt regarding the likelihood of the former Governor facing charges, pointing out that such talks weren’t common during Wike’s time. He emphasized the difficulties he and other council chairmen encountered since Governor Fubara took over, such as fund seizures and excessive bureaucracy.

In his words, the PDP bigwig had said, “Ayo I don’t see how the former Governor will be indicted, this conversation wasn’t there when the former Governor held sway, and I can tell you authoritatively, I’ve been Chairman of Council going to 3 years now — from 2021, June 17th, I was sworn in and, while we were Chairmen, former Governor Nyesom Wike was in Office, and I mean, we didn’t have this kind of conversation, a situation where our monies will be seized and we will be told to go and submit papers from here to there, it is inimical to the system. Now a lot of bad blood has been injected into the system, I can’t function.”
