Shehu Sani, a Nigerian senator, author, playwright, and human rights activist, has taken to his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) to indicate that former President Buhari promised the residents of Niger State ships, but since he made this promise, the people have yet to witness the arrival of even a canoe.

The President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria (CRCN) and the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand Africa wrote, “Niger State gave the most of their land for the establishment of the FCT. Sadly, the road from Minna to Abuja has been under reconstruction for 18 years.

Regarding what the state is currently going through, he added that “they have five hydropower stations that supply electricity to other states, yet the state remains in near complete darkness.
