Reactions As Sani Says I Hope Nigerians Will Not Be Asked To Pay For The ‘Upgraded’ National ID card

The economic situation in Nigeria does not seem palatable to many Nigerians due to the rising costs of food items in the country. Government policies such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the removal of electricity tariffs have been a major debate subject in recent times, as some political analysts have linked them to the reason why the prices of items are skyrocketing.

Amidst these circumstances, even though the president has assured Nigerians that this difficulty will come to an end soon, Shehu Sani,a Nigerian senator, author, playwright, and human rights activist, has taken to his official X handle (formerly known as Twitter) to indicate that he is hoping that Nigerians will not be paying for the upgraded version of the National Identification card soonest.

The politician wrote, “I hope Nigerians will not be asked to pay for the ‘upgraded’ national ID card that will be launched soon.
