Wike Vs. Fubara: Bishop Kukah’s Explanation Is That He Had Reached Out To Both Of Them — Jake Epelle

The Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa and founder of Albino Foundation, Jake Epelle, has, during an interview on Politics Tonight, a TVC Television programme, called on elder statesmen to intervene in the crisis in Rivers State; as he mentioned that he has called a prominent clergyman, Bishop Matthew Kukah to call Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to order. Jake Epelle emphasized the gravity of the situation by highlighting the potential economic repercussions for the nation if the crisis in Rivers State escalates.

He urged the youth of Rivers to refrain from taking any actions that could endanger the state and the entire country. Epelle stressed the importance of peacefully resolving the issue and disclosed that he personally contacted Bishop Kukah to intervene and facilitate peace talks. Bishop Kukah, in response, had reached out to both parties involved but was awaiting their response to initiate action towards restoring peace. Epelle emphasized the political nature of the conflict and underscored the necessity of ensuring peace.

Jake Epelle had said, “There are issues of the economy of the Nation — of this country being in danger if, God forbids — and I stand here to say no youth of Rivers indigene should do anything foolish that will put that State in jeopardy, and of course, the entire country. All of us must stand up and peacefully resolve this issue. I have made some calls today, I had to call Bishop Kukah myself, asking and pleading for the peace committee to come into this matter, and Bishop Kukah’s explanation is that he had reached out to both of them and he needs them to respond to him so that he can swing into action and begin to bring.. because this is all about political — making sure that, you know, there is peace…”
