EPL: I won’t kiss Chelsea badge, do stupid things to please fans – Pochettino

Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has said he will not do “stupid” things to please the club’s fans.

Pochettino stated this while speaking to the media on Friday, ahead of their trip to Sheffield United this Sunday.

The former PSG and Tottenham boss has enjoyed a rough relationship with the Blues’ supporters, as the team continued to falter on the pitch.

On Thursday, Chelsea came from behind to defeat Manchester United 4-3 at home, with Cole Palmer snatching the win with a late deflected effort.

The goal saw joyous scenes at Stamford Bridge, with fans, coaching staff and players embracing each other.

Pochettino said: “For the first time, I started to feel a connection with the fans.

“This project is different to the last 20 years.

“I always said that I wanted to build a genuine relationship, not kiss the badge or do stupid things on the touchline to please the fans.”
