A Peter Obi that is romancing with an El Rufai cannot find my support, let us be clear – Farotimi

Dele Farotimi who was spokesperson for the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has addressed speculations that Obi intends to align with former Governor Nasir El-Rufai for the 2027 presidential election.

In a video Farotimi shared on X (formerly Twitter), he said the focus in 2027 should be on ideas rather than personalities. He made it clear that while he respects Peter Obi, he cannot support him if he aligns with El-Rufai in 2027. He urged voters to focus on the ideas presented by candidates. He encouraged people to consider whether the candidates offer innovative solutions for Nigeria’s challenges.

In Farotimi’s words: “A Peter Obi that is romancing with an El-Rufai cannot find my support, let us be clear. There are certain lines that you draw. It is about Ideas so when we come to that bridge in 2027, if we get to that bridge, don’t look at the person, look to the ideas that they espouse. Are they promising a new Nigeria and a different way of doing things? Are they promising you citizenship? Do they bear promises that suggest that we might have a turnaround in our country? That is what 2027 is about”.
