Wike Supporters Say Damagun Should Revert To Deputy National Chairman – Kola Ologbondiyan

Kola Ologbondiyan, the former national publicity secretary of the PDP, has expressed his opinions about the expected NEC meeting that the party is said to be planning this week.

Members of the PDP have now chosen to call this NEC meeting to debate and resolve their concerns, which will define the party’s future direction in light of the current internal conflicts.

During Ologbondiyan’s presentation on this subject, he stated that the PDP’s problems extend well beyond Nyesom Wike and Atiku Abubakar. He claims that there are two factions inside the party.

The first believes that the PDP needs to act as the opposition by scrutinizing and challenging some of the ruling party’s policies. The other group believes that the ruling party should be allowed to continue with its operations unhindered and that there is no need to pretend to be an opposition party.

Additionally, Kola Ologbondiyan stated unequivocally that he knows PDP members who are ardent supporters of Atiku Abubakar. He said that these members want Omar Damagun to continue to serve as the party’s acting chairman.

He further asserted that he knew ardent Nyesom Wike fans who desired Omar Damagun to resign so that the North Central could provide a candidate to complete Iyorchia Ayu’s term.

During a recent interview with Arise TV, he stated, “There are people that I know who are die-hard Atiku Abubakar supporters and standing for the need for Damagun to continue.”

“There are people I also know who are die-hard Nyesom Wike supporters and are saying that on the basis of justice and fairness, they want Damagun to revert his position as Deputy National Chairman and allow the North Central to produce a Chairman who would complete the tenure of Iyorchia Ayu.”
