A staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has, during an interview on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be blamed for the crisis in Rivers State; as he wondered why the President would allow his Minister to be involved in such crisis.
Segun Sowunmi had said, “Look at the mess going on in Rivers, what kind of President would even allow that from his Minister? You will expect that a President who is really a democrat, who doesn’t pretend to be a democrat, will look at what’s going on in Rivers and say that okay, why is the Governor in Rivers having problem; and say why is my Minister the one that is fingered in this problem; how much more do I need to say no listen, it’s enough, let the guy breathe? These are the kinds of things you expect leaders to do.”
