In the precolonial Igbo society,we the igbos has a strong security of our religious beliefs and it has been of great reverence and helping our forefathers, and has done greater than the present day adopted religions
On the arrival of the European religious scammers,they influence on us negatively and teach us to dishonor our fathers,defile our Faith’s, and glorify their own.
And sadly most of the people has been made to believe the opium of foreign beliefs as against our natural healthy ways

The igbos like other ethnic groups in West Africa, are shrouded in myth.

The native Igbo people worship different deities (alusi), such deities could be summoned in times of needs,or to oversee a particular diplomatic mission, to guide warriors during wars etc.

1)Chukwu or Chineke : This is the supreme being of Igbo spirituality. In the Igbo pantheon, Chukwu is the source of all other Igbo deities and is responsible for assigning them their different tasks. The Igbo people believe that all things come from Chukwu, who brings the rain necessary for plants to grow and controls everything on Earth and the spiritual world. They believe Chukwu to be an undefinable omnipotent and omnipresent supreme deity that encompasses everything in space and space itself

2)Ala: Some call her Ani,Ana or Ali depending on their dialect, Ala is the most respected God in Igboland,she is regarded as the Mother of the Igbo Pantheon.

Ala is the goddess of the earth, which means she controls virtually everything on earth, she controls the land and everything in it, she’s the sacredness of creation. She is known to be the wife of Amadioha, another powerful God that commands huge respect among the igbos, Ala’s symbol is either python or crescent Moon.

The Igbos adores Ala cause she’s said to be the kindest amongst the gods.
