Man United Suffer Triple Injury Blow Ahead of Nottingham, Man City Clashes

Manchester United have reportedly been dealt with three major injury blows as Harry Maguire is ruled out of Wednesday’s FA Cup matchup against Nottingham Forest. Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane are also doubts for the game.

On Saturday, all three players saw action for the whole 90 minutes as United suffered a crushing 2-1 loss to Fulham. Alex Iwobi scored the game’s winning goal for the visiting team late on after Maguire tied the score.

The England international is not available for Wednesday’s fifth round match at the City Ground. Joining Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez on the injured list. Varane is also questionable prior to kickoff, which leaves United severely lacking in center-back options.

Victor Lindelof, who filled in for Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at left back on Saturday, is available, as is Jonny Evans. In December, Willy Kambwala made his Premier League debut. He is also vying for a starting position.

Fernandes, the club captain, is also questionable after seeming to take a hit during the latter part of Saturday’s loss.

“We have some question marks in our squad,” Ten Hag told MUTV as echoed by The Metro.

“Harry Maguire will not be available. Bruno is doubtful. Also Rapha Varane is doubtful.

“We have to watch and see what we will have and then pick a team, with the aim of course [of winning]. It’s an FA Cup game, so it’s about win or lose. Black or white. We have to win and that should be our approach.

“We have to show [character]. I know we can be at our best in the moment, where we are in such a moment in adversity, and we are staying together.

“I know the fans, we will be strong together. And we will go into that fight to win the game.”
