I purchased Landmark Beach Resort in 2007, before the FG plans for the coastal highway — Onwuanibe

According to Vanguard, Paul Onwuanibe, the proprietor of Landmark Beach Resort, revealed in an interview with CNN that he received a notice to vacate his multimillion-dollar beach resort within seven days due to its impending demolition. He highlighted the significant impact of the resort, which accommodates over 80 businesses and directly sustains over 4,000 jobs.

Onwuanibe emphasized that the resort contributes more than N2 billion in taxes annually and is recognized as one of the top-tier tourism spots in Nigeria. He noted that the resort attracted approximately one million local and foreign visitors last year.

Expressing mixed feelings upon receiving the demolition notice, Onwuanibe explained that he purchased the land in 2007, well before the plans for the coastal highway were formulated. He also indicated his intention to seek compensation for the potential loss resulting from the demolition.

He said: “I purchased Landmark Beach Resort in 2007, before the federal government plans for the coastal highway.”
