JUST IN: BIAFRA WAR IS OVER, I BELIEVE IN BIAFRA BUT THE BIAFRA I BELIEVE IN IS ECONOMIC BIAFRA ~ IFEANYI OSSAI
In a recent development, Ifeanyi Ossai, the deputy governor of Enugu State, emphasised the significance of economic development for the Igbo people. Ossai acknowledged the sacrifices made by our ancestors for the betterment of Ndigbo and called for a shift towards economic progress. He stressed the need to revitalise the Igbo economy by focusing on crucial infrastructure projects such as the rail system and the utilization of seaports.
Ossai urged the states in the South-East region to prioritize economic growth and make use of their resources, particularly the coal deposits, to maximize the region’s potential and reduce dependence on discussions around marginalization. He praised the efforts of those who have dedicated themselves to the welfare of Ndigbo, both past and present. Ossai expressed his belief in Biafra, but emphasised that his vision of Biafra is centered on economic prosperity. He urged the region to actively explore ways to revive the Igbo economy, expressing concern that after sixty years since the civil war, it is no longer viable to continually dwell on outdated issues of marginalization. Instead, he called for a focus on unleashing the untapped potential within the Igbo land
Ossai acknowledged that the current political landscape may not necessarily be in favour of the South-East region, but pointed out that if the Jews could break away and liberate themselves, the Igbo nation has the capability to replicate such achievements. He suggested utilizing the abundant coal deposits to boost rural communities and agriculture.
