Following his graduation from the Nigerian Law School in Lagos, Ighodalo embarked on his legal career as an Associate at Chris Ogunbanjo & Co from 1985 to 1991.

In 1991, he co-established Banwo & Ighodalo with Femi Olubanwo. The firm has since earned recognition as a top Nigerian law firm, particularly excelling in Capital Markets, Securities, and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Ighodalo specializes in Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Energy & Natural Resources, Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking & Securitization, and Project Finance.

Notably, in 2014, he provided successful advisory services to Zenith Bank Plc for a US$500 million eurobond issuance and to Diamond Bank Plc for a US$200 million eurobond issuance.
