As of 1971, Anambra and Enugu were one state in Eastern Nigeria.

As of 1971, Anambra and Enugu were one state in Eastern Nigeria.

It was simply referred to as Anambra state.

In 1991, the state was divided into two.

One remained the old Anambra state and had its capital in Awka.

A new state was created from this division.

And that state became Enugu State.

This division was carried out by the Military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida on the 27th of August 1991.

As of 1976, Imo state and Abia state were one state in Eastern Nigeria,

In 1991, the state was divided into three;

One part became the present-day Abia state and the other became the present-day Ebonyi state.

With this being said,

I think one of the most daft thing to do as an Igbo person is to segregate amongst your people simply because onye ugwu, divided our region into bits for Political gains.

Isn’t it unwise for Ebonyi state people to reject marriage with Imo state? Vise versa.

Or For Enugu to not want to marry from Anambra because of a political division?
