Controversial Nigerian singer Naira Marley has shared a recording of his private phone conversation with his former record label signee, Mohbad, who recently passed away.

He leaked the conversation following an interview with popular activist and writer Reno Omokri, in which he attempted to clear himself of all accusations against him.

Recall that after Mohbad’s death on September 12, videos emerged showing him being assaulted and harassed by individuals reportedly affiliated with Marlian Music.

There was also a video of Mohbad stating that Naira Marley should be held responsible if anything happened to him.

These events triggered outrage on social media, with many pointing fingers at Naira Marley and suggesting he was involved in Mohbad’s death. However, Naira Marley clarified that he was out of the country when Mohbad passed away.

In the video, Naira Marley also provided counsel to Mohbad, advising him against killing himself and encouraging him to free himself from any pressures he might be facing.

“So, you don’t feel like killing yourself again? This was just an hour ago when you locked yourself up in the room. I’ve told you to be free and say whatever you want to say,” he said in part.
