Today In Nigerian History: 1st April 2015: Nigeria’s president-elect at the time, Muhammadu Buhari, alongside his vice, Prof Yemi Osnbajo were issued a Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

On this day in 2015, Nigeria’s president, who was President-Elect at the time, Muhammadu Buhari made his acceptance speech saying that he harbours no ills against anyone while advising Nigerians to accord President Goodluck Jonathan the respect he deserves as the servant of the people…

Buhari in the speech also pledged to tackle the nation’s myriad problems such as insecurity, corruption and economic decline. He urged Nigerians to support his government through constructive criticisms in order to achieve his set target.

– Also on this day in 2015: Former minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe who caused a scene during the collation of the presidential election results at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja on March 31st, apologised to Nigerians.
