Taiwo Awoniyi surpasses top players like Haaland to Set Premier League Record

Super Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, has made headlines in the English Premier League by clinching the record for the highest shot conversion rate since last season.

Despite facing injury setbacks and missing 12 games for Nottingham Forest, Awoniyi has managed to surpass the likes of Erling Haaland, Hee-Chan Hwang, Callum Wilson, Diogo Jota, and Ivan Toney.

According to report, Awoniyi currently boasts an impressive 28.6% shot conversion rate, outshining Manchester City’s Haaland who has a conversion rate of 26.1%.

This achievement is even more remarkable considering Haaland’s higher tally of 52 goals compared to Awoniyi’s 16 goals since the start of last season.

After a successful return to action, Awoniyi has been in fine form for Nottingham Forest, scoring two goals in his last five outings.

His crucial opening goal in their 2-0 victory against West Ham United helped the team steer clear of the relegation zone.

Despite missing out on representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Awoniyi remains focused on his club performance.

As Nottingham Forest prepares to face Unai Emery’s Aston Villa in their upcoming Premier League encounter, all eyes will be on Awoniyi to see if he can maintain his impressive form and continue to set new records.
