Camp Cawa-Cawa Siege: Alih led a three-day siege resulting in the death of Brig. Gen. Eduardo Batalla, Col. Romeo Abendan, and other hostages.

 

Detention and Questioning: Alih and his men were detained and questioned for their alleged involvement in the 1984 murder of Zamboanga City Mayor Cesar Climaco.

 

Hostage-Taking: Alih took hostages, including Batalla, following an argument about Batalla’s transfer to Manila.

 

Escape: After the Cawa-Cawa siege, Alih escaped to Basilan and then to Sabah, Malaysia.
