In a sermon titled “Shielded by Fire,” delivered at the April 2024 Holy Ghost Service, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the revered General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, addressed allegations of responds to accusations that they perform fake miracles.
Responding to critics, Pastor Adeboye passionately defended the authenticity of the miraculous testimonies witnessed during the service. He declared, “You know, I heard that someone said that we fake miracles here. How can you fake the testimonies we had tonight?”
“A woman made up her mind, ‘God, what I want: 3 boys and 1 girl.’ Now, what method will Pastor Adeboye use to arrange that kind of miracle? Only God can do that. Exactly what she wanted was exactly what she got. I decree tonight, whether the mockers like it or not, you will get your miracle!”
Drawing from Hebrews 12:29, Pastor Adeboye expounded on the nature of God as a consuming fire. He proclaimed, “There’s something you need to know about fire and that is, whenever fire touches anything, it changes that thing to itself… Whatever fire has touched, it deals with it permanently. That is why the victory God is going to give to somebody tonight is going to be permanent!”
With fervor, he assured the congregation, “We are saying that from now on, any enemy who will not allow you to reach your goal, because you’re shielded by fire, the consuming fire will deal with them.”
