“We’re not running away from afrobeats. Our identity is afrobeats music right, but please don’t box us. We can make other genres like Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop, R&B and many others. What Wizkid is saying is very reasonable but people are just misunderstanding him. I will always be recognized as an afrobeats artist right, but I can also make other genres and when I do other genres, it shouldn’t be boxed under afrobeats. I don’t care what anybody calls my music but I just know I make great music and my fans love it. But we should be given credit when we do other genres.” Joeboy

We’ve got artist who are good in other genres but they just call everything afrobeats. They need to stop making it seem like our creativity is limited to afrobeats
