Manchester United handed double injury boost as two key players returns to first team training

Manchester United has received a huge boost on the injury front as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace, according to Manchester World.

Both Jonny Evans and Anthony Martial have made steps in their recovery and could be in contention for the crucial fixture.

Evans, who has been sidelined since sustaining an injury in the match against Chelsea last month, returned to team training recently.

Similarly, Martial, who hasn’t been part of a matchday squad since December’s defeat to Bournemouth, also participated in training, raising hopes of his potential involvement in the upcoming game.

The timing of their return is crucial as both players are nearing the end of their contracts.

While Martial is expected to depart as a free agent in the summer, Evans’ future remains uncertain.

Despite not having a clear long-term role, Evans has been a dependable figure for United throughout the season and could still offer valuable depth to the squad.

Manager Erik ten Hag provided an update on the trio of players, including Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez, stating, “I think we will see them all in the season.

They [have] all returned onto the pitch. Next week, they have to make the step into team training and they can be available for the last weeks. They progress well.”

This positive news on the injury front comes as a relief for Manchester United, who are looking to secure a strong finish in the league and maintain their push for a place in the Europa League.
