Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is a major doubt for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea due to muscle injury.
Haaland asked to be taken off at the end of 90 minutes in Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Real Madrid.
City went on to lose the game 4-3 on penalties after 120 minutes of football ended 1-1.
Speaking in his presser on Friday, Guardiola confirmed Haaland “felt something” during the game against Madrid.
This has thrown doubt over his participation against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and against Brighton in the league five days later.
The Spanish coach also gave update on Kevin De Bruyne who was also taken off against Madrid.
“Kevin [De Bruyne] seems well,” Guardiola said. “Erling [Haaland] felt something, a muscular issue. Kevin felt exhausted, so tired, after five months out injured, so that’s normal.
“We’ll see more tomorrow. [Haaland] A little bit niggles, a little bit problem, we will see his evolution in the next hours.
“It’s normal [to be tired] with the number of games we’ve played this season and in the previous seasons.
“There’s not much time for recovery, we played extra-time and the intensity we play. We are not machines; the fatigue is there.”
