Jose Peseiro reportedly dumps Nigeria for another country ahead of AFCON 2025

Reports now indicate that AFCON 2023 head coach for Nigeria Jose Peseiro has allegedly taken the coaching job for another African country ahead of AFCON 2025.

After expressing his desire to take a break from all coaching activities Super Eagles of Nigeria AFCON 2023 head coach Jose Peseiro has reportedly taken up the head coach role for another African country ahead of AFCON 2025.

According to goal, Jose Peseiro, who no longer has a contract with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, has reportedly agreed to coach Algeria at AFCON 2025 and for the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

According to recent reports, Owngoal has revealed that Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro has accepted an offer from the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) to become the new head coach of the Algerian national team. The FAF has been on the lookout for a new manager since parting ways with Djamel Belmadi. The media house Al-Hayat, for Awras, reported that Peseiro has already sent a written acceptance letter to the FAF president, Walid Sadi.

The announcement of his appointment is reportedly expected to be made known to the general public in the first week of March 2024 when his contract with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) will have completely expired.

  1. He should better go. I just don’t like his playing tactics. Selfish human being. He purposely made Nigeria lose the match against Ivory coast. How could he bench good strikers that would have given us goals in such a final game. Let him leave my country immediately.

  2. The man should simply go. His defensive approach to games is unknown to Nigeria. Hiw can he have favoured and unfavoured players, playing a Cup final with 5 injured players, only to throw in fit players after Nigeria went 1 – 2 down. Please, let him go
