On January 25, 2023, Jacksonville Beach Police Department chief Gene Paul Smith said that Henry Tenon been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, second-degree murder, accessory after the fact to a capital felony, and child abuse. Since August 2022, Tenon also been detained in connection with another case. Mario Fernandez was renting a residence from him at the time of the murder.
