An Overview of the 2024 JAMB Mathematics Syllabus

The 2024 JAMB Mathematics Syllabus is divided into five sections, each covering a major branch of mathematics. These sections are:

  • Number and Numeration
  • Algebra
  • Geometry/Trigonometry
  • Calculus
  • Statistics

Each section contains several topics and sub-topics that you are expected to know and understand. For example, under the section of Number and Numeration, you will find topics such as number bases, fractions, decimals, approximations, percentages, indices, logarithms, surds, and sets. Each topic has a list of objectives that describe what you should be able to do after studying it. For example, under the topic of number bases, one of the objectives is to “perform four basic operations (x,+,-,÷) on numbers in any base”.
