Drawing from biblical insights, he emphasized the importance of mercy, charity, unity, selflessness, and hard work as essential components in fostering communal support and prosperity within the Christian community.
He revealed the importance of unity and collaboration among believers in addressing economic challenges, noting that the apostles were actively engaged in gathering believers and fostering a sense of community across various territories. He emphasized the need for collective effort and mutual support in building a thriving and sustainable Christian community.
According to him, “It was not by prayers, fasting, anointing service and crusades that the apostles solved the economic needs of the first church, it was by mercy, charity, unity, selflessness and hard work. The apostles were on the move, hunting for souls and gathering believers from one territory to the other. The thought of building houses as places of worship would take place hundreds of years later.”
While acknowledging the importance of spiritual practices such as prayers and fasting, Fr. Oluoma urged believers to complement their spiritual devotion with practical action and a spirit of generosity. He emphasized the timeless relevance of the apostles’ approach to addressing economic needs, encouraging believers to emulate their example of compassion and hard work.
