According to Al Jazeera, Israel’s Culture Minister Miki Zohar has disclosed that the reduction in military operations in the Gaza Strip is a strategic move aimed at securing the release of captives held there, according to a Haaretz report. Zohar’s comments, made to the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, highlight the government’s intentions and the role of negotiations in resolving the situation.
“What did you think, that just like that, the government made a decision to reduce the intensity while we have hostages there? We know that this is the way to return them. The reason is that we want to reach a deal. If we don’t reach a deal, we go back to the military solution,” Zohar stated, emphasizing the delicate balance between military action and diplomacy.
