Israel orders evacuation from Zeitoun, Turkmen districts

The Israeli army has told all residents of the Zeitoun and Turkmen neighbourhoods in Gaza City to urgently move to al-Mawasi town in the south of the Gaza Strip, calling the town a “humanitarian zone”.

They would have to travel more than 30km (19 miles) through bombed roads of the war zone.

Avichay Adraee, a spokesman for the Israeli army, told the Palestinians via X that the evacuation order comes “for your safety”, despite there being no safe place in the war-torn and besieged enclave.
