Liverpool travel to Manchester United today in a showpiece FA Cup quarter-final  as Jurgen Klopp looks for more trophies before he bids Anfield goodbye at the end of the season.

The Reds have already lifted the Carabao Cup and are now into the Europa League quarter-finals. Still in with a chance of winning the Premier League too, stopping them looks a tall order.

Erik ten Hag, meanwhile, wants a trophy for different reasons. There remain doubts about his long-term future at United in the wake of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s part-takeover but adding to last year’s Carabao Cup success would put him in a very strong position.

Both teams are just one game away from Wembley ahead of a huge north-west derby and Klopp will have the luxury of fielding Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai and Andy Robertson who are all in line to play after appearing in Thursday’s Europa League win over Sparta Prague.

Luis Diaz, Virgil van Dijk, Harvey Elliott and Alexis Mac Allister could all come into the XI after rests earlier this week. Bobby Clark sustained an ankle injury there and could join the likes of Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota on the treatment table.

On the other end, Ten Hag is confident Ramsus Hojlund, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire will be fit for the game.

Head to head, Man United have a better record but on current, Ten Hag will find it difficult to overcome the Klopp army.
