Crystal Palace Vs Chelsea 1-3 (12th February 2024) Premier League Video Highlight

With the game level 1-1 as we began second-half stoppage time, Cole Palmer broke down the right wing. Palace’s defence failed to show him down the line, giving him room to cross into the centre. He did so and found Conor Gallagher, who chose his spot and passed the ball into the back of the net.

The Chelsea players have enjoyed their goal celebrations but no one was more pleased or relieved to see them than Mauricio Pochettino.

FT: Crystal Palace 1-3 Chelsea

It’s all over at Selhurst Park as Chelsea have taken a rare win in which they trailed at half-time.

The match looked destined for a 1-1 draw until the visitors grabbed two goals in stoppage time.

GOAL! Chelsea seal the win!

90+4′ Crystal Palace 1-3 Chelsea

With Palace throwing everyone forward Chelsea win the ball and break the other way.

Fernandez gets into the box and sits Munoz down before picking his spot in the back of the net.

Brutal for Palace

90+2′ Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea

What do you even say? So brutal. Conor Gallagher again. After such a resilient Palace performance. It’s a massive gut-punch.

We’re into four minutes of stoppage time.

Chances for Palace

87′ Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

Mateta and Colwill come together and go to ground on the edge of the Chelsea box as Palace were breaking forward, but Michael Oliver awards a free kick to Chelsea, much to the displeasure of the home fans.

A minute later, Edouard nearly skips around the entire Chelsea defence as he looks for room to shoot in the box, but still his effort is blocked.

85′ Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

A standing ovation for Matheus Franca after he’s substituted. The Brazilian deserves the appreciation. There have been times in this game he’s looked lost, and very vulnerable defensively, but equally he’s offered Palace a much-needed outball and ball-carrier, while creating threat in attack. The fans are still singing his song.

Nkunku fails to take chance

83′ Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

Nkunku has a great chance to break free on goal but can’t quite bring the ball under his control.

Palmer then finds Sterling in space on the side of the box but he takes too long to unleash his shot, allowing Palace’s defenders to block his effort.

GOAL! Chelsea equalise right away!

47′ Crystal Palace 1-1 Chelsea

Gallagher scores for Chelsea and the game is tied!

Gusto had far too much space with which to break down the right wing, before crossing for Gallagher who hit a sweet first-time finish.

HT: Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea

Academy graduate left-back Tyrick Mitchell was key for Palace in that first half. He was limping around, wincing in pain, and I thought he may have to go off. But he shook it off and made two strong (but fair) tackles in the build-up to Lerma’s goal.

His tiger-like defending is going to be key in combatting Madueke and Gusto on the right wing. That pair are really holding the width and trying to exploit França’s understandable uncertainty in defensive positioning.

GOAL! Palace take the lead!

30′ Crystal Palace 1-0 Chelsea

Palace take the lead with a stunning goal from Lerma!
