Nigerian Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, husband to popular Nigerian gospel artiste Mercy Chinwo>, has filed a direct criminal complaint against five people for criminal defamation.
The minister who did this through his lawyers led by Pelumi Olajengbesi said the act was being deliberately circulated by these individuals.
The couple have been receiving several derogatory comments and falsified lies ever since they shared a picture revealing their son’s face via their Instagram pages on Friday, 29th of March.
Some of the individuals whom Pastor Blessed filed a complaint against claimed that the child shared a striking resemblance with minister Nathaniel Bassey.
This resulted in Nathaniel Bassey petitioning the IGP on the 1st of April, through his lawyers over the allegations that he fathered Mercy Chinwo’s son.
Mercy Chinwo’s husband also said that the alleged acts of Criminal Defamation were carried out through the intentional dissemination of injurious falsehood, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The court has now issued a criminal summons on the five persons for Defamation and the five defendants Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, DJ Spoiltkid, Terrence Ekot, and Samuel Agozie are to appear before the court on the 23rd of April, 2024.
Fans and colleagues of both entertainers have trooped to their social pages to show support.
