“Congolese came into music with fashion, dance moves and very great movements but they just didn’t speak English. But when Ghanaians and Nigerians came in with english, most of the world could kinda understand what they were saying so it was easy for them to adapt in places like Europe and America. Globally, the biggest artist with records sing in english cuz majority of the world speaks english. So one of the biggest advantages that Ghana and Nigeria had was the fact that they could speak english. But other countries were way better than Nigerians when we’re talking about the culture and artistic side of it but they didn’t just do it in english. Truth be told, countries like Congo, Cameroon, South Africa came into the music scene way before Nigerians and were doing better than Nigerians but they didn’t just do it in English.

Not singing in English alone at a time when Africa was still trying to find its way into global market limited their audience and that’s how Nigeria surpassed everyone cuz they came in with English making it easier for most people to relate to their music.
