BREAKING: Ajaka demands a state of emergency and denounces deaths in Kogi villages.

Alhaji Muri Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) candidate for governor in the most recent Kogi State governorship election, strongly denounced on Saturday the ongoing maiming and killing of innocent Kogites in Bagana, Otutubatu, Iyade, Agbenema, Agojeju-Odo, and other impacted communities in the State’s Omala Local Government Area.

Alhaji Ajaka urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act swiftly to address the deteriorating security situation in the state and declare a state of emergency in order to put a stop to the ongoing needless killings. He personally signed the statement and made it accessible to reporters in Abuja.

“I condemn the repeated maiming and killing of innocent Kogites in Bagana, Otutubatu, Iyade, Agbenema, Agojeju-Odo, and other affected communities in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State in strong terms,” the statement stated.

Every Kogite’s life is precious and significant, and it is the state government’s duty to defend the populace from both internal and foreign threats. The state administration has to take accountability for its main duty, which is to secure Kogi state.

“I implore the current occupants of Lugard House to either move aside or mobilize all necessary resources to resolve the current issue and prevent future incidents in order to put an end to the crises and increased insecurity in Kogi state. The state’s security forces had to be sent in right away to keep the impacted regions stable and orderly.

Since the state administration has let the people down, I urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led federal government to step in and resolve the issue. I have no doubt that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not permit insecurity to take control of his administration in any region of the nation, thus Kogi state shouldn’t be permitted to become a death zone.

“Humanitarian help for individuals displaced by the unrest is something I am also requesting from the Inspector General of Police, all of the Service Chiefs, and the National Security Adviser. They should act quickly and fully to uncover the root of the ongoing issue.
