BHA 0-3 ARS: Match Review And Latest PL Table As The Gunners Overtake Liverpool In The Title Race

Arsenal asserted their dominance at the AMEX Stadium, clinching a 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League standings.

Right from the start, Arsenal dictated the tempo, with Gabriel Magalhães coming close to opening the scoring early on. Despite a promising counter-attacking opportunity for Brighton’s Julio Enciso, Arsenal continued to control proceedings. Bukayo Saka’s return to the starting lineup injected further creativity, with his partnership with Gabriel Jesus nearly bearing fruit.

The breakthrough came when Jesus was brought down in the box by Tariq Lamptey, allowing Saka to calmly convert the penalty, securing his 14th league goal of the season. Arsenal maintained their lead thanks to a spectacular save from David Raya, denying Enciso’s long-range effort just before halftime.

Brighton pushed for an equalizer early in the second half, but Arsenal seized control with Jesus heading wide and Kai Havertz doubling the lead with a well-taken goal. The introduction of Leandro Trossard provided Brighton with hope, but Arsenal remained resilient at the back, keeping a fifth consecutive clean sheet on the road in the Premier League.

Trossard’s late attempt was thwarted by Bart Verbruggen, but he eventually found the net with a composed finish, sealing Arsenal’s victory. The Gunners’ defensive solidity not only secured the win but also halted Brighton’s 12-match unbeaten run at home in the league.

With this impressive performance, Mikel Arteta’s side temporarily regained control of the title race, leaving Brighton trailing by five points in the race for the top seven.
