“I can’t just call Asake’s name anyhow now because he’s big. He doesn’t even reply to his old friends anymore including me. If I text Asake, he won’t reply but it doesn’t bother me because he is now big and I’m not on his level. I don’t DM him anymore because I know he won’t reply and I shouldn’t feel entitled to him because he was my friend. I understand that at Asake’s level right now, he meets new people every day, who are more influential and bigger than him so he has to channel his attention towards them. I do understand that he’s always busy and simply doesn’t have enough time to check on his old friends anymore. Before achieving global success, Asake stayed with us for 4 years moving from one house to another because he had no house. He used to stay in our houses and even do chores just to learn from us. Asake has really súffered in life and now that he has seen success, I think we should allow him to enjoy his life. He may not reply to his old friends now because he’s reached a higher status, and that’s very normal. So if I want him to reply me, I just need to work hard and get to his level.” Yemi Elesho
