Arrest Sunday Igboho for Treason – MACBAN Tells Tinubu

How Benin President Saved Me From Being Killed By Nigerian Govt - Sunday Igboho

MACBAN Urges Action: Tinubu Should Prosecute Sunday Igboho for Treason.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called upon President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action against Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemi, commonly known as Igboho, by arresting and prosecuting him.

In a statement, MACBAN emphasized the need for consistency in the application of the law, citing the arrest and prosecution of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as a precedent that should be followed in Igboho’s case.

Baba Othman Ngelzarma, the National President of MACBAN, condemned Igboho’s recent remarks advocating for the expulsion of Fulani herders from the Southwest, labeling them as inflammatory and treasonous.

Ngelzarma stated,

“We call on the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute Sunday Igboho for making this unlawful statement that amounts to treason because he is asking for the actualisation of Oduduwa nation.

“His statements are unlawful. If Nnamdi Kanu will be held behind bars for a similar offence, we see no reason why Sunday Igboho will be allowed to go scot-free without being arrested and prosecuted.”

Highlighting the importance of upholding the law, Ngelzarma pointed out the discrepancy in allowing Igboho to make such statements without facing legal consequences, especially when Nnamdi Kanu is being held accountable for similar offenses.

MACBAN asserts that Igboho’s remarks pose a threat to national security and must not be overlooked. They urge swift action to uphold the integrity of the law and maintain peace and order in the country.
