Amidst hunger, cleric urges Nigerians to avoid embezzlement, atrocities detrimental to growth
An Islamic preacher, Sheik Muyideen Bello, has admonished Nigerians to shun embezzlement and other forms of atrocities for the prosperous future of the country.
Bello gave the admonishment during the 4th Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Memorial Ramadan lecture in Ibadan on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the topic of the lecture is “What is the End of Life?”
The cleric said that a lot of Nigerians were now engaged in habits capable of affecting the future of the country negatively.
According to him, any country that is constantly involved in fraud, embezzlement, and other forms of atrocities will always experience difficult moments.
Bello, therefore, called on Nigerians to put the love of the country at heart and humbly build its future with the fear of God.
“Let’s be mindful of our deeds; love one another and fear God in order to end well, because it is only those who fear God that will end well.
“This life is vanity – engage in good deeds while on earth for you to be granted paradise in the hereafter,” he said.
The cleric further called on the Yorubas to stand united for the progress of the region and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu to deliver on his mandate for Nigerians.
The lecture had in attendance Mr Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, and the former Oyo State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ismail Ali.
